F485 -
GE Digital Energy
The F485 is a self-contained device for converting between RS232, RS485 and fiber optic signals. The F485 is electrically isolated to improve communications in noisy environments. The converter uses internal switches to select the signal conversion type and communication rates up to 57600 bps. The F485 converter uses the data on the serial ports to determine direction and therefore requires no hardware handshaking signals from the computer.

LPCI-COM422-8 and LPCI-COM485-8 -
Acces I/O Products, Inc.
These are eight-port, asynchronous, serial communication cards designed for use on the PCI bus. They support RS-422 or RS-485 communications. These cards offer the best combination of high-density and high-speed communications in a low profile form factor. The cards meet the MD2 Low Profile PCI Bus Specification and can be used in applications where space is at a premium, such as thin-client servers and high-density rack-mount servers. The LPCI line has been designed for use in retail, hospitality, and point of sale systems as well as the gaming and defense industries.

CommFront Communications
In the past two decades, legacy serial communication protocols such as Modbus have merged rapidly with modern TCP/IP communication, yielding benefits including widely available infrastructures and greater distance, reliability, and speed. The Serial-TCP program (more than just a Device Server) bridges your existing Serial COM port and TCP/IP without the need for changing existing protocol. It works seamlessly and transparently, just like passive RS232 / RS485 / RS422 converters, repeaters, and hubs, while the difference is that one requires installation of cables and converters with limited distance; and the other simply makes use of the existing computers and networks with an unlimited transmission distance

7402e -
Sealevel Systems, Inc.
The 7402e low profile PCI Express serial interface provides four serial ports, each individually field-configurable for RS-422 or RS-485 communications. The board uses a 16C954 UART with 128-byte Tx/Rx FIFOs that enables data rates to 921.6K bps for reliable high-speed communications in data intensive applications. This high-performance UART includes 9-bit framing support and is register compatible with legacy 16550 software applications. In addition, the board derives a 62.5 MHz clock from the PCI Express link. This ultra-high speed clock is divided by a flexible 8-bit clock prescalar with 1/8 steps to provide support for the widest range of standard and non-standard baud rates.

Pulse Electronics
In large battery pack applications with daisy chain connections, the number of cells connected in series is very high, and the large voltage differences demand component-to-component isolation. The serial communication links between boards need to be isolated by transformer coupling circuits instead of capacitor coupling.
